Joyce Kalu is a popular Nollywood actress, producer, entrepreneur and a philanthropist. She was born in Ohafia, Abia State in the south eastern part of Nigeria. She is currently 47 years old. She is a native of Ohafia, a small village in Abia State in the south eastern part of Nigeria.
She completed both her primary and secondary school education in Abia State. After obtaining her First School Leaving Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate, Joyce Kalu proceeded to University of Port Harcourt in River State, Nigeria and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts.
She is currently married and has many beautiful children. She joined the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) in 2005 and rose to fame after starring in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “Take Me Home” and since then she starred in many blockbuster movies in Nigeria.
Joyce Kalu has acted in more than 150 Nollywood movies which include Throne of Glory, Crippled Kingdom, Gallant Mama, Super Women, Entrapped, Corporate Mamas, Palace of Sorrow, Marry Who You Love, Take Me Home, etc. She acts mostly as a royal queen, housewife and mother in several Nollywood movies.
Due to her success in the entertainment industry, charity works and philanthropic gesture, Joyce Kalu was conferred a Chieftaincy title as “Apunanwu 1” of Ohafia in Abia State her hometown on 1st January 2016. She was coroneted as Chief Mrs. Joyce Kalu, the Apunawu 1 of Ohafia kingdom of Abia State by the traditional ruler of her hometown.
